Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Infection Preventionist
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Infection Preventionist is responsible for developing and implementing infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in healthcare settings. They work closely with healthcare providers to educate staff and patients on proper hygiene practices and investigate and monitor outbreaks of infections.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
2. Educate healthcare staff on proper infection prevention practices
3. Monitor and investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases
4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop infection control strategies
5. Conduct infection control audits and assessments
6. Provide training and support to staff on infection prevention measures
7. Stay up to date on current infection prevention guidelines and best practices
8. Collaborate with public health agencies on infection control initiatives
9. Participate in infection control committees and task forces
10. Provide support and guidance to patients and families on infection prevention measures
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
3. Certification in infection control (CIC) preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with experience in infection prevention preferred
5. Strong communication and organizational skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Knowledge of infection prevention guidelines and best practices
8. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
9. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
10. Strong problem-solving skills
