Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis treatment. They monitor patients during dialysis, administer prescribed medications, and educate patients about their treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
2. Monitoring vital signs and assessing fluid balance
3. Administering medications as prescribed by the physician
4. Educating patients about kidney disease, dialysis treatment, and self-care techniques
5. Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans
6. Providing emotional support to patients and their families
7. Ensuring the dialysis equipment is functioning properly
8. Documenting all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately
9. Following infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. At least 1 year of experience in dialysis nursing
3. BLS certification
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Attention to detail and organizational skills
7. Compassion and empathy towards patients
8. Knowledge of dialysis equipment and procedures
