Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing direct patient care in the critical care setting, including monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patient condition and vital signs
2. Administering medications as prescribed by physicians
3. Collaborating with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
4. Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests
5. Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families
6. Operating and monitoring medical equipment
7. Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols
8. Documenting patient care and observations accurately
9. Responding to emergencies and providing immediate medical intervention
10. Participating in ongoing education and training to stay current in medical advancements
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting
4. Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work under pressure and in high-stress environments
7. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
8. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices
