Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Surg unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals admitted for medical and surgical treatment. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, monitor, and manage patient care throughout their stay in the Med Surg unit. Your attention to detail and strong clinical skills will be vital in ensuring positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patients' condition and responses to treatment.
2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
3. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members to create individualized care plans.
4. Educating patients and their families on their diagnosis, treatment plan, and self-care techniques.
5. Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
6. Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and families during their hospital stay.
7. Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and actively seeking opportunities for professional growth and development.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. At least 2 years of experience working in a Med Surg unit.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
7. Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems.
