Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health - Inpatient
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Behavioral Health Inpatient unit, you will be responsible for providing quality and compassionate care to patients with mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the mental health needs of patients, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their stay.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting thorough assessments of patients' mental health status
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitoring patients for any changes in behavior or condition
- Providing emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers to coordinate care
- Participating in treatment team meetings and contributing to patient care discussions
- Documenting all patient interactions and care provided in electronic medical records
- Following all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment
- Knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
