Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU setting. They monitor patients closely as they wake up from surgery and ensure their safe transition to the next phase of care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition post-surgery
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Participate in continuous training and professional development to stay current on best practices and advancements in the field
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU or similar setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
