Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity setting. They assess patients' conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients' conditions in the ICU
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Monitor vital signs and changes in patients' conditions
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
5. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
6. Assist with procedures and treatments in the ICU
7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety
9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in ICU nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. 2+ years of experience in ICU nursing
4. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
6. Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
7. Knowledge of ICU equipment and procedures
8. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
9. Ability to prioritize patient care tasks
