Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery, Obstetrics
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, Obstetrics, you will be responsible for providing quality care to expectant mothers and newborns during the childbirth process. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and comfortable delivery experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor the progress of labor and assist with the delivery process
2. Administer medications and pain relief as needed
3. Provide education and support to expectant mothers and their families
4. Assist with newborn care and breastfeeding support
5. Collaborate with healthcare team members to create a safe and supportive environment for labor and delivery
6. Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
7. Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed
8. Stay up-to-date on best practices and guidelines for labor and delivery nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Previous experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
4. BLS and ACLS certification
5. Strong critical thinking and communication skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
7. Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
