Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health disorders. Your role will involve providing therapeutic interventions, medication management, and emotional support to patients in a psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of patients
2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
3. Administer medications and monitor their effects on patients
4. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families
5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for patients
6. Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately in medical records
7. Implement crisis intervention techniques as needed
8. Advocate for patients' rights and wellbeing
9. Stay current on the latest evidence-based practices in psychiatric nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in psychiatric nursing (PMH-RN) preferred
4. Experience working in mental health settings
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
7. Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their side effects
8. Understanding of mental health laws and regulations
9. Compassion and empathy towards patients with mental health disorders
