Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) is responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. They must possess strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the ability to work under high-pressure situations. The RN in the CCU plays a crucial role in monitoring patients, administering medication, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and monitoring patient condition
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Responding to emergencies and providing immediate interventions
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Educating patients and their families on their condition and treatment plan
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Ability to work well in a team setting
