Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Tech (CST) plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals before, during, and after surgical procedures. They are responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available for surgery. The CST also assists with patient positioning, draping, and suturing, as well as maintaining a sterile field throughout the procedure.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures
- Sterilize and organize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgery
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
- Handle specimens and surgical dressings
- Ensure patient safety and comfort
- Clean and restock the operating room after surgery
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety
