Job Title: Surgical Tech - CST/Surgical Tech
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Tech - CST/Surgical Tech, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to assist in surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients throughout the procedure.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up and organize surgical equipment and instruments
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by handing them instruments and supplies
3. Ensure a sterile environment in the operating room
4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as necessary
5. Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery
6. Keep accurate records of surgical procedures and patient care
7. Assist with dressing changes and wound care as needed
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required
2. Previous experience working in a surgical setting is preferred
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
6. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
7. Basic computer skills for electronic record-keeping
8. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy objects
