Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pre/Post-Op

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Pre/Post-Op, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures. You will monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, assist with wound care, and provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Assessing patients' physical and emotional status before surgery

- Educating patients about their surgical procedure and post-operative care

- Administering medications and monitoring patients' vital signs during the pre-operative and post-operative stages

- Assisting with positioning and preparing patients for surgery

- Providing wound care and monitoring for signs of infection

- Collaborating with surgeons and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes

- Documenting patient care and communicating with patients' families about their loved one's condition

- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

Qualifications and Skills:

- Current RN license in the state of practice

- BLS and ACLS certification

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pre/post-op or surgical setting

- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients
