Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing quality patient care and monitoring post-operative patients as they recover from anesthesia. This role requires critical thinking skills, the ability to assess and intervene in emergent situations, as well as excellent communication and teamwork.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor patients post-operatively and assess their recovery status
2. Administer medications and interventions as necessary to manage pain and promote healing
3. Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgeons to ensure optimal patient outcomes
4. Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions and follow-up appointments
5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification required
3. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting
4. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
7. Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
